YouTube blocks the channel of the Russian parliament

The blocking of the YouTube channel of the State Duma “Duma TV” is related to Google’s compliance with the legislation on sanctions against the Russian Federation and trade rules, the company told RIA Novosti.

Earlier on April 9, Google, which owns video hosting, blocked Duma TV’s YouTube channel. Roskomnadzor asked the company to immediately restore access to the channel and explain the reasons for the blockade. The chairman of the commission of the State Duma to investigate the facts of foreign interference in Russian affairs Vasily Piskarev said that the blocking of Duma TV on YouTube gives every reason to apply the strictest measures to respond to video hosting.

“Google complies with all applicable sanctions and commercial compliance laws. If we determine that an account violates the Terms of Service, we will take appropriate action,” the company said in response to a question from the agency about the reasons for blocking the channel.
